Thank you for carving out time to share this with us. I’d say that I’m not sure how you do it, but you’ve just told us.

I remember Adam Gopnik in NYC telling us he wrote 4 hours a day, which struck me as doable in 2 chunks of 2 hours each. And sometimes the 2 hours are "writing-related." Thanks for the reminder that having structure for our writing practice helps guard against the onslaught of distractions and subversions.

Kim! another terrific read and your topic is bang-on. Isolation or just plain staying at home means a lot more proximity, and a lot more distraction. It's hard when the buzzing insects are your actual children (I don't think I'm allowed to swat them) but your game plan for getting down to work has given me much food for thought. Thanks as aways for sharing your ideas with all of us. Good luck with the virtual residency! please do write about how it all went down, when the dust settles.

Kim, I am a master at distraction--all the ones you mentioned, and more. But today, my distraction was going back to my InBox to find your newsletter....and that was a lucky break because I'm feeling much more motivated now to smarten up and FOCUS. Your advice was great and well-timed! Thank you Kim!
